It appears Oklahoma City Thunder wing Andre Roberson won't be ready before opening night as he continues rehab per, Royce Young of ESPN.

Roberson suffered a season ending patellar-tendon injury last season in January, disrupting a huge piece of success. One that began to mesh for the starting lineup which was trying for majority of the season to find a way to maximize the potential of newcomers Paul George and Carmelo Anthony.

George, who resigned with the Thunder this offseason, believes Anderson was a huge reason as to why they couldn't achieve the postseason glory they were often thought of as favorites.

Prior to his injury, Roberson was averaging 5 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, which doesn't tell the full story of his defensive impact and transition style that lead to easy points.

He's made great strides to return, as Sam Presti believes they won't be without the defensive wing too long. Opposed to a month ago when Roberson was hoping for a return by at least Christmas according to FOX 29:

“I’m not really putting a particular timeline on it, but I want to come back to myself somewhere in, like, December. It would be great if it happened before Christmas. That’d be great. But, like I said, not putting a timeline on it. Just taking it a day at a time.”

The Thunder seem to of course make no major rush to have Roberson back, but placing the former Defensive Player of the Year-candidate back on the floor certainly is what they're looking forward to sooner than later.
