6-foot-7 sharpshooter Anthony Morrow had the privilege to play with Russell Westbrook with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Contrary to the fiery player that Westbrook is during games, Morrow actually thinks that the 2017 Most Valuable Player is one of the most humble players he has ever been with off the court, according to Ben Stinar of Amico Hoops.

“On the court, he’s one way. Off the court, one of the most humble guys I’ve been around in my life,” Morrow said. “You wouldn’t even know he’s a superstar. My girl and his wife are very close. He’s always with family, his wife, his brother, or his dad and mom. Always around his family. I think that says a lot about him as a person.

“On the court, he just takes stuff really hard. If he doesn’t play to his standards, it’s almost like he let the team down.”

Earning a reputation of being a respected locker room presence himself, Morrow spent three years playing with Westbrook before being traded in 2017. Dynamic as he is on the court, Westbrook also gathered much attention off the court with his unique taste for fashion and a number of memorable statements during interviews.

Just recently, former Thunder center Enes Kanter also voiced his praises for the triple-double superstar.

In an Undisputed interview with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe, Kanter laid out the reasons why he thinks so highly of Westbrook.

“People are saying it’s so hard to play with Russ,” Kanter said during his interview. “Man… this dude, he’s maybe the best teammate I’ve ever played with. He’s a very good dude. I mean, I love him — on the court and off the court. He’s the type of guy that makes himself and everyone else around him better.

“While some people say no… to me, yes,” Kanter continued. “He made me so much better — on the court and off the court. He was like a big brother to me.”

With Paul George surprisingly re-signing with the Thunder this summer, it really seems like Westbrook has a great and lasting influence on his teammates.
