Oklahoma City Thunder guard Hamidou Diallo has been out since Nov. 22 because of a right elbow injury.

Thunder head coach Billy Donovan says Diallo has ‘responded well' in rehab after suffering the hyperextension sprain. Oklahoma City tracked how many shots the high-flyer took in practice on Saturday to see how his elbow holds up:

So far this season, Diallo has played in 12 games for the Thunder. He's averaging 8.8 points and 3.8 rebounds while shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 15.4 percent from beyond the arc and 61.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Diallo, 21, has career averages of 4.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 63 games with the Thunder. He was the 45th overall pick in the 2018 draft by the Brooklyn Nets. Diallo was traded by the Nets to the Charlotte Hornets in the deal which sent Dwight Howard from Charlotte to Brooklyn. The Hornets then traded him to the Thunder for cash and a 2019 second-round draft pick, which turned into Jalen McDaniels.

The Thunder are 14-14 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. Before the season started, almost no one picked Oklahoma City to make the playoffs. It would be a great story if OKC can keep this level of play up and reach the postseason in the rugged Western Conference.
