In his 15th year in the league, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Carmelo Anthony may have finally passed his prime. Once one of the premier scorers in the league, Anthony has no longer been putting up the numbers that we're used to seeing.

According to Tommy Beer, senior analyst for Basketball Insiders:

Anthony is shooting at 40.7 percent from the field — a career-low for the 10-time NBA All-Star. He also logs in 16.7 points per game, the first time in his career that he averages below 20 points per game.

From casually knocking down almost every shot he took, fans have been used to the Thunder forward missing poorly from the field throughout the course of the season.

Once a bona fide superstar back in his days with the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, Anthony seems to have slipped into a supporting role for the Thunder. It was a role he was forced into. Not just because of the ball-dominant player in Russell Westbrook, but also because he has already lost a step or two over the past few seasons.

After all, he came into the league just after a year out of college. On top of the hectic NBA season schedule, Anthony has also gone through multiple stints at the Olympics where he helped his country win three gold medals.

It has been a rough season for Anthony so far. Fans would definitely want to see the old Anthony in top form and hopefully, finally win that elusive title to add to his Hall-of-Fame resume.
