Chet Holmgren's shot-blocking abilities in the NBA has been questioned as of late. Many fans have criticized the Oklahoma City Thunder rookie's thin frame. For these people, Holmgren's lack of weight would come back to haunt him in the big leagues.

So far, though, it seems like that the concerns about Holmgren's body are way overblown. Over the last three games of his Summer League debut, the Thunder rookie has put on a block party. Currently, his 12 blocks in three games is an SL record over the last five years. (via ESPN Stats & Info)

Chet Holmgren's rim protection has also evoked shades of a former Thunder standout: Serge Ibaka. The last player for the team to post more than 12 blocks in a three-game series was Ibaka back in 2015. It's easy to forget now, but the Congolese center first built his reputation in the league as the best shot-blocker in the league.

Does that mean that Chet Holmgren could be on par or better than Serge Ibaka? Well, let's pump the brakes here a little bit. For one, the Thunder rookie is doing this in the Summer League. It may be harsh to admit, but the players playing here aren't on the same level as those playing in the regular season.

Still, there's a possibility that Holmgren ends up being better than Ibaka in all aspects of the game. There's a reason why he was taken 2nd overall by the Thunder, after all: his potential is off-the-charts. If he works on his weaknesses physically and in the game, he will easily overtake Ibaka (and other Thunder legends) on the all-time rankings.
