Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul won't play against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.

Paul was very close friends with Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, who tragically passed away on Sunday:

The Thunder are 28-19 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

Paul has appeared in 47 games this season for the Thunder. He's averaging 17.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.4 assists while shooting 48.3 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 89.8 percent from the free-throw line.

It's going to take time for Paul and the rest of the NBA to get over Bryant's death. He was the Michael Jordan of this generation.

The Thunder, after losing Paul George and Russell Westbrook in the same offseason, have been one of the biggest surprises of the season thus far.
