The Oklahoma City Thunder will be without small forward Danilo Gallinari on Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Gallinari has a sore left thumb:

The Thunder are 27-19 on the season. They are in seventh place in the Western Conference standings.

Gallinari has appeared in 39 games this season for the Thunder. He's averaging 19.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 41.4 percent from beyond the arc and 90.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Gallinari becomes an unrestricted free agent next summer. He’s making $22,615,559 this season with the Thunder.

A report from The Ringer said the Portland Trail Blazers have interest in Gallinari — among other teams — despite making Carmelo Anthony’s contract guaranteed for the rest of the season. We’ll see what happens with Gallinari moving forward. It seems like OKC is trying to shock the NBA world and make the playoffs. Most pundits thought the Thunder would struggle this season with the departures of Russell Westbrook and Paul George.

If the Thunder do fall out of the playoff mix out West and don’t trade Danilo Gallinari before the February trade deadline, the franchise will look to sign-and-trade him in July, according to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.
