Dennis Schroder, who was recently sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder via a three-team deal, reacted to the blockbuster news.

After the news broke out, the 24-year-old German point guard  posted the photo below on his Instagram account:

Judging the emoticons he used, the newest member of the Thunder is definitely happy and excited about donning a new set of jerseys.

For those following the young guard or his former team — the Atlanta Hawks — it's not much of a surprise that he's rejoicing about the trade. Earlier this year, he expressed his desire to be sent elsewhere, noting that he's not happy with the Hawks organization.

As per Kyle Schnitzer of the New York Post, Schroder said then:

“I will be 25 in September, and of course you want to win a title sometime. In my prime — 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 — I want to compete. I cannot be second to last in the Eastern Conference. That’s why I will have the talks with the Atlanta Hawks.”

He even singled out the Indiana Pacers and the Milwaukee Bucks as his next possible destination, noting that the two organizations seem to be headed in the right direction.

But with the Thunder, the former 17th overall pick seems content. As a point guard, he would most likely play a backup role to the Thunder's franchise player Russell Westbrook. But given the current milieu of small ball, there might be numerous occasions where the two will play together — forming a fast-paced duo on offense.
