Oklahoma City Thunder big man Enes Kanter has had quite a busy offseason with various off the court situations, but that hasn't shifted his focus away from preparing for the upcoming season.

Kanter revealed in a tweet on Thursday morning that he's lost almost 40 pounds this summer ahead of his seventh campaign in the league.

The 25-year-old has developed into quite a reliable offensive option through his first six campaigns and has transitioned smoothly to a prominent role off the bench for the Thunder. He's coming off another productive year where he averaged 14.3 points on 54.5 percent shooting from the field with 6.7 rebounds in 21.3 minutes per game.

The huge loss of weight should allow for Kanter to move much more effortlessly on the court to help become a more efficient scorer. It could possibly lead to a larger role off the bench with potentially the chance to get back into the starting lineup.

Kanter is now entering the third year of his four-year, $70 million deal that will pay $17.8 million that includes an $18.6 million player option for the 2018-19 campaign. This could prove to be quite a critical year for him as he aims to show that he's worth another lucrative contract possibly as soon as next summer if he opts out of his deal.

In the meantime, Kanter's huge effort to trim down may benefit him greatly this upcoming season.
