The Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Josh Giddey with the sixth overall pick in the latest draft, knowing full well his potential. Half a season in, the Australian rookie is validating the hype surrounding him with the occasional great performance out of him.

Josh Giddey's latest exploits involve triple-doubles and one Luka Doncic. Against the Chicago Bulls, the Thunder rookie was electric, posting his second triple-double despite the loss. That made him the second teenager to post multiple triple-doubles before the age of 20, joining Doncic on that list. (via ESPN Stats & Info)

Giddey's 12-point, 11-rebound, and 10-assist performance was everything the Thunder needed and then some. Because of that performance (and a 30-bomb from Luguentz Dort), the young OKC team was able to keep pace with the top-seeded Bulls. Unfortunately, they weren't able to close the game out, as they lost 106 – 101.

Despite the losing season, there's plenty to like about the Thunder, Giddey being one of those reasons. The Australian rookie was billed as a raw prospect with potential to be a game-breaking player. While the scoring isn't quite there yet, Giddey has shown his amazingv vision and all-around play in his time on the court. He will be an exciting player to watch develop over the years.

The Thunder are in the midst of what looks to be a long-term rebuild. There will likely be a lot of losses for this squad, but fans can at least enjoy their Australian star-in-the-making wreck havoc in the NBA. Hopefully, they get a few more intruiging pieces to build around Giddey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Dort.
