Boston Celtics star Kemba Walker had high praise for Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul in his role as NBPA President.

Walker said Paul is “just special” in his vocal leadership while also making an allusion to the “Point God” as a communicator on the floor.

All the players in Orlando have been trying to keep social justice issues at the forefront, but Chris Paul has an added responsibility as the face of the NBPA.

The Thunder star had to preside over a series of meetings in which the players debated whether it was smart to participate in a league restart. Also, he has had to address concerns with respect to COVID-19 and health and safety protocols in the “bubble.”

Most notably, CP3 had to communicate both with the league and the players about messaging. When the NBA decided to limit the number of social justice messages players could use for their respective nameplates, Paul and the NBPA partnered with Russell Westbrook's clothing line to offer shirts with alternatives.

On Sunday, the Thunder veteran playmaker shared a couple new announcements.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama would be speaking with the players about the importance of voting. Additionally, Paul said the players agreed on a $300 million fund that will benefit a variety of social justice initiatives.

The players will embrace the start of competition when the action resumes on Thursday. However, they have done an excellent job of promoting a unified front.

Paul has been in the center of it all, and Kemba Walker suggests his ability to communicate makes him the right leader for the union.
