Lu Dort of the Oklahoma City Thunder has forged his name beside LeBron James and Kobe Bryant as the only three players age 21 or younger to score 25+ points in a Game 7.

21-year-old Dort breached the 25-point mark in Game 7 of their first-round series with the Houston Rockets. LeBron James achieved the feat in the 2006 Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Detroit Pistons where he dropped 27 points in a loss. Kobe Bryant, for his part, dropped 25 points in the Western Conference Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers en route to a win.

Apart from James and Bryant, Lu Dort also forged his name beside Boston Celtics swingman Jayson Tatum. They're the only two rookies to score 20+ points in a Game 7 in the last 15 seasons.

Initially regarded as a defensive stalwart, Dort has slowly and steadily showcased his offensive arsenal. While his jump shot needs some obvious recalibrating, in Game 7, Dort became the main offensive weapon of the Thunder.

His explosion was due to the Rockets' lazy defense on him. After all, Dort struggled in the first few games of the series, shooting just 30 percent from the field Game 2, 3, and 4. Come Game 5, Dort shot a horrendous 18.8 percent from the field. In Game 6, Dort showed up by chipping in 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 2-of-6 from deep. Despite his production, the Rockets didn't see him as a threat just yet.

But come Game 7, Dort made the Rockets pay by converting on 6-0f-12 from deep and 10-of-21 from the field en route to 30 points. Despite the loss, Dort's breakout performance puts him in the books as one of the best 21-year-olds in the postseason.
