The Oklahoma City Thunder are somehow winning games even in 2021 despite trading most of their assets for draft picks.

How?

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is how. SGA nailed an awesome game-winner against the Charlotte Hornets:

Gilgeous-Alexander is coming off a career year last season with the Thunder, averaging 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. He emerged as a legitimate offensive threat every time he's on the floor and he's continuing to do more of the same early in 2021.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showed promise as a rookie on the LA Clippers in his freshman campaign, but was a key component of the blockbuster trade which sent Paul George to the Clippers.

With a great deal of pressure on SGA's shoulders, he has been fantastic and has shown significant growth every season.

NBA Twitter seems to be recognizing Gilgeous-Alexander's presence on the floor, especially after a stone-cold game winner.

The Thunder must be happy with their return for Paul George. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander alone is a fair exchange considering the age difference and franchise direction. The fact that the Thunder received a plethora of draft picks in addition to SGA makes Sam Presti look like a genius.

It's great to see a young player emerge as a legitimate star in the NBA, but Thunder fans shouldn't get ahead of themselves. Even though the game-winner was impressive, it's only one game.

But then again, this could be the first act of an impending Shai Gilgeous-Alexander coming out party. The only way to find out. Watch more NBA and follow ClutchPoints.
