Someone must not have gotten the memo.

Despite the reports that Oklahoma City Thunder center Nerlens Noel would be re-signing with the Western Conference team, Noel took to Instagram to post question marks, adding speculation that a deal is not complete.

Noel played the last season with the Thunder after stints with the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers.
He was a strong backup center to Steven Adams during his single season with OKC and should portend to continue alieving any concerns about the Thunder’s bench should Noel stay committed to the team and re-sign if the reports hold up after his speculative Instagram Story post.

This isn’t an uncommon theme during this time of the year. On Sunday, Evan Turner, recently traded from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Atlanta Hawks, was on Instagram Live talking about free agency in general and how it’s unfair for reporters to break news of player movement prior to the athletes themselves coming to terms with proposed deals or signings. The lamentation could be true in the case of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, who nearly broke the internet and NBA Twitter following the revelation that the two All-Stars would sign with the Brooklyn Nets.

Noel’s question marks could be responding to other NBA happenings, however. Or, he’s disputing the report that’s re-signing with the Thunder as previously mentioned in this space.

He averaged 4.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game in 77 appearances in his single season with the Thunder this past year. He shot 58.7% from the field and 68.4% from the free throw line.
