The Oklahoma City Thunder made it clear they were not going let 2016-17 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook take on the Western Conference alone. As a result, they brought in a couple of established superstars in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony.

However, the Thunder have yet to synergize after beginning the 2017-18 NBA season just 4-5. Despite the early struggle, Paul George has slid in comfortably as the team's go-to 3-point shooter, according to Basketball-Reference.com.

Paul George is certainly no stranger to heaving up the 3-pointer. However, it is a surprise to see him taking them at such a rapid pace through the first nine games of the season.

There was plenty of speculation prior to this year as to how the Thunder would relegate enough touches to keep each of these players happy. They have seemingly managed to get the four-time All-Star his looks by setting him up from deep. Fortunately, he has made the most of his opportunities by averaging 21 points per game on 39.4 percent shooting from 3-point land.

With Westbrook serving as the offensive catalyst for the Thunder, his skill set provides plenty of drive-and-kick opportunities for both Paul George and Carmelo Anthony. However, do not be surprised to see George takes on more of a facilitator role as the season goes on.
