Following Thursday night's matchup against the Houston Rockets, Paul George spoke with members of the media about the Oklahoma City Thunders' acquisition of Markieff Morris.

Morris, now 29 years of age, was recently traded by the Washington Wizards to the New Orleans Pelicans, who later waived him. The former Kansas Jayhawk suffered a neck injury in December, but he's since been cleared for action after seeking a second opinion.

George, a player who many experts believe to be moving up the MVP ladder, seems excited to have Morris onboard.

“We’re a good group,” George said. “We got a big piece in Markieff (Morris) that we’re excited for, and we’re going to be ready for the second half after this break.”

Though they fought hard, the Thunder were defeated in Thursday's game, 131-122. Russell Westbrook extended his record-setting triple-double streak to 11 games with 44 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. George added 28 points, but he went 3-of-17 from beyond the arc.

“A couple of them was in and out where it felt really good,” George told ESPN, referring to his three-point shooting. “A couple of them I wish I could have back.”

Morris should be a fine addition to Oklahoma City's frontcourt rotation. He's played in 34 games this season (15 starts), racking up averages of 11.5 points on 43.6 percent shooting from the field (33.3 percent from beyond the arc), 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 26.0 minutes per outing.

The Thunder fell to 37-20 with Thursday night's loss, but they retained the No. 3 spot in the Western Conference standings. OKC will look to continue their playoff push after the All-Star break (Feb 22nd vs. the Utah Jazz).
