The Oklahoma City Thunder take on the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Wednesday, and Thunder star small forward Paul George is excited to see how he's going to be received by the fans.

Last season, Paul George was cheered nonstop when the Thunder played the Lakers in LA. George was linked to joining the Lakers as a free agent for a couple of years, so the fans wanted to show PG-13 some love so that he knew he would be welcomed.

The cheers didn't work, though, as Paul George re-signed with OKC this past summer on a four-year deal. It wouldn't be a surprise if George is booed heavily by the Staples Center crowd this time around.

In his second season with the Thunder, Paul George is putting up phenomenal numbers. The five-time All-Star is averaging 26.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 45.0 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from beyond the arc and 83.7 percent from the free-throw line.

George and Thunder superstar point guard Russell Westbrook look much more comfortable playing with each other this season. OKC enters Wednesday with a record of 23-13, good for third place in the Western Conference standings.

The Lakers missed out on George, but they got LeBron James, so it was still a productive summer in Los Angeles.
