Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George put smiles on people’s faces on Sunday, as he dished out gifts during a charity event. At the same time, he probably also made his fantasy owners happy by saying that he’s likely to make a return Monday following a two-game absence due to a calf injury, per Brett Dawson of NewsOK.
George, who has missed the Thunder’s past two games with a right calf contusion, said he had “a good day of rehab” on Sunday and “should be back” in the lineup on Monday, when the Thunder hosts the Charlotte Hornets.
That being said, Paul George’s status remains up in the air. The team’s medical team still has the last say when it comes to his availability, so there’s the possibility that the Thunder will roll against the Charlotte Hornets sans the four-time NBA All-Star.
George is the Thunder’s second-leading scorer, only behind Russell Westbrook with an average of 20.7 points per game on 41.6 field goal shooting percentage.
Should Paul George ultimately fail to get a green light from the Thunder’s staff, Westbrook is certainly going to enjoy even more usage. Carmelo Anthony should also see extra scoring opportunities, while Alex Abrines, Andre Roberson, and Jerami Grant could also be in line to get some more minutes.
