The Oklahoma City Thunder seem to have caught a break with the Paul George injury. He suffered a right hip contusion during Sunday's victory over the Utah Jazz and although there has been no official announcement on his status for Game 2 he did go through practice with the team.

Even though there was no contact during practice, it's still a good sign that he wasn't held out of practice as a whole. The Thunder really need him to be not only ready to play, but also close to 100 percent because he seemed to carry the team to victory in Game 1.

He played 38 minutes putting up 36 points and seven rebounds. He was 13-20 from the field and a scorching 8-11 from deep.

George has lived up to all expectations since being traded over from the Indiana Pacers during the offseason. He has played in 79 games this year averaging 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He shot 43 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from deep.

One thing getting George did was hurt their depth and that makes it that much more important that he can play his normal workload.

The bench is really thin for the Thunder and an injury to George would probably cost this team any chance to advance to the second round against a very difficult Utah Jazz team.
