Entering Friday, Oklahoma City Thunder star small forward Paul George is putting up a stat line which hasn't been done since the legendary Michael Jordan did it back in the 1988-89 season with the Chicago Bulls.

George is averaging 28.2 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game this season for the Thunder in 65 games.

Michael Jordan, universally recognized as the greatest basketball player of all-time, is the only other player in NBA history to record a stat line like that since steals became an official stat, according to Basketball Reference:

Paul George is in the running for the MVP award this season. The All-Star swingman has taken his game to another level and is proving he made the right decision by re-signing with the Thunder last summer instead of bolting for Los Angeles to join LeBron James on the Lakers.

Some believe if George doesn't win the MVP, he'll be able to take home the Defensive Player of the Year award.

PG leads the league in total steals with 146 and steals per game at 2.2. The 28-year-old is shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from the 3-point line.

George and Russell Westbrook have guided the Thunder to a 42-27 record entering Friday. OKC is in the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings.
