The bright moments for the Oklahoma City Thunder have been few and far in between up to this point in the 2017-18 NBA season. Prior to their impressive win over the Golden State Warriors, the Thunder's inability to close out games has resulted in their underwhelming 8-9 record.

Despite their trouble early on, newly-acquired superstar forward Paul George is not ready to press the panic button just yet. As an avid fisherman, George has become accustomed to waiting patiently for success, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:

“Patience. Trust that it takes patience,” George said. “Fishing is not something that you go out there and catch it on your first cast. It’s patience. You got to understand that fish have a mind of their own. Sometimes it takes a little longer than usual to catch one.”

Paul George himself has fit in seamlessly with the Thunder's new ‘Big 3' since his arrival over the offseason. He has averaged 21.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game so far this year.

Fellow superstars Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony are also enjoying equally productive seasons of their own, however, they still have yet to translate their performance into wins. If the Thunder's season is anything like George's fishing ventures, then it may only be a matter of time before they start making their way up the Western Conference.
