Paul George is set to become a free agent this summer, and there are all kinds of rumors about where he will land, with it seeming like he will either end up in Los Angeles with the Lakers or signing an extension with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

With the All-Star game taking place in Los Angeles this past weekend, it was a perfect time for the Lakers fans to try and recruit their hometown kid.

At the media availability on Saturday, fans were able to purchase tickets to watch, and they greeted George with a “we want George” chant.

“It makes you feel great,” George said when asked what he thought of the chants. “I love it. It’s not to say that I don’t. I’ve felt the energy, I know where the love is.”

After the All-Star game was over, George was asked about playing in Los Angeles again, and he seemed to really enjoy his time.

“I’m from a small town outside of L.A.,” said George, according to Matthew Moreno of Lakers Nation. “Getting to play on the biggest stage in L.A. is a moment that I’ll always cherish and just be grateful for it. The fans, the celebrities — it was really a special night.”

George had a nice showing in the game putting up 16 points, five rebounds, and four assists. It was a nice bounce-back performance after the terrible showing he had in the 3-Point Contest

He was only able to put up nine points in the contest and was ultimately booed off the court. Twitter, of course, had some fun after the poor shooting performance at the expense of the hometown kid.
