Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Paul George told local reporters on Monday that his shooting mechanics were off due to the shoulder injury he was dealing with.

George had soreness in both of his shoulders. The swingman says it didn't hurt to shoot, but the soreness messed with his rhythm and the fluidity of his jump shot.

The good news for OKC fans is that George says his mechanics are back to normal now.

Since returning from a three-game absence, Paul George is averaging 25.1 points, but he's shooting just 36.2 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from beyond the arc.

George has been playing like an MVP all season. Now that his shoulders are feeling better, hopefully the six-time All-Star can regain his MVP form for the Thunder, who are 42-28 on the campaign.

On the season overall, PG is putting up 28.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from the 3-point line and 83.6 percent from the charity stripe. George has 22 double-doubles and one triple-double on the season. OKC is 40-26 when he's in the lineup.

George and the Thunder host the Miami Heat on Monday. OKC is looking to snap a two-game losing streak. The team will be without star point guard Russell Westbrook, who is serving a suspension for picking up his 16th technical foul.
