Paul George, in the Oklahoma City Thunder's victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night, left the game during the third quarter.

Royce Young of ESPN reported that Thunder head coach Billy Donovan announced that George suffered a groin injury.

Billy Donovan said Paul George suffered a groin injury, but doesn’t know the severity as of now. He’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow back in OKC.

It's always a scary sight for NBA stars at the peak of their career to get sidelined all of a sudden. Especially for George, who has been relatively healthy throughout his career.

The most horrific scare of his career came in 2014 when he broke his right leg after landing awkwardly at the base of a basketball stanchion during a scrimmage with Team USA. He only played six games the following season.

It was evident that George was not affected too much by the gruesome injury as he came back to posting huge numbers for the Pacers. His game showed steady improvement yet the Pacers still struggled which triggered him to not commit to the franchise that led to his trade to the Thunder.

With the Thunder, George has been a great defensive and offensive presence. He is averaging 22.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and two steals per game.

He has provided Westbrook some much-needed help in both ends of the floor. In the offensive end, George has moved effectively without the ball, sneaking in the creases of the defense either for a wide-open three or a cut to the hoop. On defense, his IQ and active hands have led to steals and fast break points.
