Many were surprised with Paul George's decision to stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder. But in Part 3 of his documentary, he explained all the things that went into the big decision. It turns out that Russell Westbrook had a pretty big impact.

In the documentary, George had a brief and simple explanation on why he chose to stay in Oklahoma. He talked a bit about his relationship with Westbrook, who he sees not only as a teammate and friend but someone who is a great human being overall.

“Aside from being one of the best human beings I’ve been around, (Russell Westbrook’s) approach to the game is what guys who want to be a part of and build something with.”

George expressed his confidence in Westbrook. With him, George believes that he has a real chance to win a title:

“Russ is somebody I can win with and vice versa. So I think with this decision, that makes me much more comfortable knowing I got a shot and a real chance to win with one of the best players in the league.”

Time and time again, critics have pointed out how it's close to impossible to win with Westbrook as your teammate. They have noted his seemingly low basketball IQ, stat-padding antics, and carelessness with the ball. Some even hunched that he's the reason why Kevin Durant left.

But George sees something in Westbrook that no one seems to notice. Is it his ruthless aggression? Love for the game? Undying desire to win that ring? Who knows? But for George, teaming up with Westbrook makes perfect sense.
