The announcement of the All-Star reserves on Tuesday has divided the opinion of many, as there are others who believe that there are some who deserve a spot more than the ones chosen. Paul Pierce is among those critics, as he made it known that he thinks Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George deserves the nod more than Golden State Warriors forward and three-time All-Star Draymond Green.

The former NBA champion made his claim during the ESPN pre-game show on Wednesday, before Brian Windhorst jokingly said that the reigning Defensive Player of the Year will send Pierce a tweet for the controversial comments he just made.

“I think he’s a little more deserving than Draymond Green this year…”

George definitely has made a strong case for himself to be an All-Star for the fifth time his career, as he is having another strong season for the Thunder. Despite having new teammates and coaches, George is still averaging 20.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.1 steals in 36.4 minutes through 44 games. Green, on the other hand, has also been solid for the Warriors, showcasing his brilliant all-around game with numbers of 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.3 blocks in 32.4 minutes per game.

With Green being known as a very vocal person, it will be interesting to see if he will fire back at Pierce. Last season, it can be recalled that Green called the former Boston Celtics star out, saying that he was not deserving of a farewell tour like what Kobe Bryant had, and with Pierce's latest comments, it could lead to a fiery response from him next.
