Russell Westbrook set an NBA record for most consecutive triple-doubles tonight in the Oklahoma City Thunder's 116-107 win against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Russell finished the game with 21 points, 15 rebounds, and 11 assists; his tenth consecutive triple-double for the season. Prior to this game, the All-Star guard was tied with Hall of Famer Wilt Chamberlain for most consecutive triple-doubles with nine.

Russell is on pace for a third consecutive season with a triple-double average, and if he will be able to keep it up, he will again set another record.

Westbrook's stellar performance this season has helped OKC climb into the Western Conference standings. After starting the season with four straight losses, the Thunder are now the third best team in the West with a 36-19 record. They're now just one game behind the second-seeded Denver Nuggets.

Meanwhile, his fellow All-Star teammate, Paul George flirted with a triple-double as well, finishing with 47 points, 11 boards, and nine dimes. Westbrook has no problem taking a backseat in scoring, which allowed both him and George to co-exist for OKC this season.

OKC is expected to be the top candidate to challenge the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals this season, and behind Westbrook and George, they have a legitimate chance of dethroning the Dubs.
