After it was announced last summer that the Oklahoma City Thunder acquired the services of veteran point guard Chris Paul as part of the Russell Westbrook trade to the Houston Rockets, the general consensus was that Paul would be making his way out of the Thunder sooner rather than later.

At this point, however, we are already a month into the season and yet, there appears to be no imminent move for Paul in the books. If anything, the buzz has actually died down. As it turns out, a number of league insiders are now saying that teams are not exactly lining up to try and trade for the nine-time All-Star. This report comes from Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

Rival executives don’t see a robust market for Paul, particularly when you view him as a 34-year-old with more than $80 million and two more years left on his contract.

There you have it. Once again, we are reminded of the stark reality of Paul's dilemma. There is no doubt that he is still a top-level point guard, and that a possible contender would gain a lot of value from trading for the eight-time All-NBA team member. However, one question remains begging: is he worth all that money?

Based on the type of interest — or lack thereof — shown by the market, it appears that for most organizations, the answer to this query is a “no.” Until then, we better get used to seeing Paul in a Thunder uniform.
