Paul George surprised everybody this summer when the five-time All-Star chose to return to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Los Angeles Lakers were the favorites to land him, but it was his on and off the court chemistry with teammate Russell Westbrook that really helped convince him to stay.

Now that George is in it for the long-run alongside Westbrook, the point guard is understandably pumped to start the new season and avenge their first-round letdown last postseason. ESPN posted a video of Westbrook, who was visiting China, sitting down with interviewer Coral Lu to talk about his fashion and the re-signing of George with the Thunder.

“I’m very, very excited,” said Westbrook. “Paul has been an unbelievable teammate, obviously a great friend. I’m very, very excited that he is back and we’re ready to make some noise. We are just going to take it one day at a time. I think our team has a lot of great, young talent. We have one goal now and that is winning a championship.”

In a stacked Western Conference, the Thunder finished with a 48-34 last season, good enough for the 4th playoff seed. But they ran into an inspired young Utah Jazz team and surprisingly crashed out of the playoffs in just six games.

The team's Big 3 experiment of Westbrook, George, and Carmelo Anthony obviously didn't work out. And with the Thunder failing to reach even their modest goals, people were sure that he would leave the team in the offseason and sign with the Lakers or the Philadelphia 76ers.

But Westbrook was able to convince the former Most Improved Player that the team has what it takes to make a run for the championship. The team lost Melo to free agency this offseason, leaving Westbrook and George more freedom to handle the offense.
