Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook can be defined as a team leader on and off the court. Especially on the court with his high basketball IQ and the ability to make plays with both his shooting and passing abilities. With the ability to grab the defense's attention anywhere he goes, Westbrook has the opportunity to often pass the ball for a quick and easy score.

With this recent success so far in the league, Westbrook could lead the league in assists as he holds the top crown right now. In the video below Westbrook was asked by Erik Horne of The Oklahoman what it would mean to lead the league in assists, and well, the All-Star had some fun with it.

It seemed as if Westbrook was shocked by the results and went on to praise his teammates why he was having such a successful time passing the ball around. However Westbrook would soon let everyone know he was messing with the media after he was asked if he was surprised to hear the results.

“No, I was just messing with him. I'm not surprised at all, but I think it was just funny. I'm grateful by the guys I have to make my job easy. Everybody the guys I play with make my job easy. I'm just trying to make their job easy as possible too.”

With the NBA regular season closing in the next month, Westbrook currently holds an 83 assist lead on the next man behind, which is LeBron James. It is pretty much a lock for Westbrook to lead the league in this difficult category.
