Russell Westbrook has been known for not being shy to speak his mind. Whether it may be about a facet of his game, his fashion style, or anything concerning the Oklahoma City Thunder, he has given his opinion on it, and does not mind shutting down reporters along the way either.

That was exactly the case once again recently, when the reigning MVP was surrounded by some members of the media. When asked what he and his team has to do to become a better defensive team, he simply cited “defending” as the answer to it. The next reporter tried to get more insight from him, but Westbrook called him out for it, and even tried to be funny by cussing while being recorded.

This is not the first time Westbrook has shut down a reporter. During a press conference last season following a playoff game, he tried to defend Steven Adams by dodging a question thrown at him, and not allowing the media member to address his teammate. Now, he has proven again that he is not the most ideal of players to be interviewed, as he gave a one word answer to a question needing more explanation.

Westbrook may have his unpopular ways during interviews, but it’s very hard to deny his greatness on the court. His attitude also shows that he couldn’t care less about being labelled differently, and allows his game to speak for himself. Just like the question thrown at him, he leaves it to the reporters to watch their games instead to know the answer to it, and find out for themselves how they addressed their team’s concerns on the defensive end.
