Quarantine life was fun for Steven Adams back home in New Zealand, where the Oklahoma City Thunder starting center took advantage of this mid-season break amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The New Zealand-native tried out different ways to stay in shape, and some of his methods were rather unique. In a video interview with some reporters, the 6'11” center jokingly said that he boxed out some cows in his farm to stay in shape.

“Just from here down,” Adams said, lifting his T-shirt sleeve to show off his tan (per oklahoman.com). “It was bloody brilliant. The cows are doing good though, mate.”

Adams flew home immediately when the NBA regular season was halted in mid-March and spent a good three months back with his family in New Zealand. He's now back in Oklahoma ahead of the NBA season restart later this month for the Thunder.

“That’s with any international player,” Adams explained. “They’ll feel the same way. They just want to be close to loved ones. In case anything happens, you want to be there.”

It's been quite a different scene for Adams – flying from his home country that was quite efficient in handling the pandemic with just 1,180 COVID-19 positive cases to a state in the US that's seen 14,539 cases and 359 deaths. Adams, and the rest of the Thunder have been extra cautious though amid the on-going preparations, going through individual workouts in their team facility and will only be seeing each other when they get to the NBA Bubble in Orlando within a week's time.

OKC is set to play their first game back on August 1 against the Utah Jazz. Hopefully, all that cow-boxing helps the big man boost the Thunder to another playoff berth.
