During the offseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder were one of the many teams to make big splash moves to their roster with the addition of a pair of All-Stars in Paul George and Carmelo Anthony that saw them be thrust into the NBA title picture.

These were major trades that were a direct correlation to the work of general manager Sam Presti to construct a team that can compete with the top teams in the league. According to Tim Cato of SB Nation, these moves have made a huge impression on veteran big man Steven Adams.

“As an idiot, I’m impressed,” center Steven Adams told me.

It is a huge risk that Presti is taking with the addition of a pair of players that could both become free agents next summer, but this has a chance of working greatly in the Thunder's favor. They have already locked up reigning league MVP Russell Westbrook to a five-year, $205 million super-max extension last month.

Since taking over the reigns as the general manager, Presti has continued to put together rosters that have been at the very least playoff-caliber teams. However, these latest moves could prove to be the most impactful in the team's long-term future

Regardless of what unfolds this upcoming season, Presti has done his part to make transactions to put the Thunder in the position of potentially building something special over the next several years.
