The Oklahoma City Thunder might not have the services of center Steven Adams for their Wednesday’s showdown with the Chicago Bulls at home. According to Fred Katz of The Norman Transcript, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan isn’t confident that the 24-year-old big man would be able to suit up and do battle underneath the basket versus the Bulls, as Adams is still nursing a calf bruise.

That said, Donovan isn’t entirely shutting the door on Adams’ availability.

Thunder coach Billy Donovan does not expect center Steven Adams to play Wednesday “unless something changes at shootaround,” he told reporters Tuesday.

Steven Adams has missed the Thunder’s last two games after hurting his calf in last Thursday’s 102-94 defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. Should Adams ultimately get ruled out for Wednesday’s tilt, Dakari Johnson could get another run as the team’s starting center. In that case, Adams next chance to play is on Friday on the road against the San Antonio Spurs.

On the season, Steven Adams is averaging 12.3 points per game while leading the Thunder in rebounds with 8.4 each contest.

While Adams is a big reason why the Thunder are pacing the league in rebounds (46.6), they have collared more rebounds in the past two games without Adams with Oklahoma City averaging 54.0 rebounds over that stretch.
