Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George is in the midst of a season that has placed him firmly in the conversation for the league's MVP award, but that hasn't stopped him from working on his fishing game in his time away from the court. Leave it to teammate Terrance Ferguson to leave him out on the hook, so to speak, via Master Tesfatsion of Bleacher Report:

“He's low-key as hell. All he does is fish, which is kind of weird. He's the only dude I know that goes fishing. If he had the chance to go fishing every day, he would be on that lake fishing. I'm like, ‘How can you love fishing that much?'”

The patience that George displays out on the lake can be translated to his basketball journey, which has seen him work his way back from a devastating broken leg. That injury momentarily derailed his career just as it was on the come-up prior to the 2014-15 season.

There's even more patience displayed in the fact that George remained a member of the Thunder after the 2017-18 year saw him average 21.9 points per game. It has taken a little over a full season, but George has meshed with former MVP Russell Westbrook to create a terrifying 1-2 punch that is as lethal as any, with George averaging 28.2 PPG, the second-highest mark in the league.

After years of being unable to get past LeBron James in the Eastern Conference, George won't face that obstacle in 2018-19. His patience could pay off again over the coming months as the Thunder look for their first trip to the NBA Finals since 2011-12.
