In September of 2018, a then 20-year-old sophomore Terrance Ferguson was accused of rape. Recently, the 6-foot-6 Oklahoma City Thunder swingman was the recipient of some good news after it was announced that he will not be charged for his alleged actions some two years ago.

In a report published by Nolan Clay and Maddie Lee for The Oklahoman, it was stated that Oklahoma County prosecutors have opted not to charge Ferguson due to an apparent lack of evidence.

“Evidence to support the reporting person's allegations that the sexual conduct was not consensual was absent,” District Attorney David Prater said Saturday night.

This comes as a welcome development for Ferguson, who is currently on his third year with the Thunder. The former 21st overall pick has seen a dip in his production this term compared to the previous campaign, with Ferguson averaging 4.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game this season.

For his part, Ferguson's lawyer released a statement about this recent development in his client's case.

“Terrance Ferguson is a very respectful young man who has recently had to defend himself regarding some false allegations,” his attorney, Billy Bock, said Sunday. “He cooperated fully with the investigation and appreciates the professionalism of the investigators with the Oklahoma City Police Department and Mr. Prater's office, which has declined to file charges.

“He continues to deny any wrongdoing and is looking forward to having this experience behind him.”

According to reports, a woman accused Ferguson of rape during a house party in September of 2018. The Thunder player has not been charged or arrested for the alleged crime, though.
