As part of a recent offseason breakdown piece for ESPN, Zach Lowe noted Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Dennis Schroder as a potential trade target ahead of the 2020-21 season.

Thunder teammates Chris Paul and Danilo Gallinari have already heard their names tossed about in trade rumors, and now Schroder, whose eligible for an extension, is being viewed as a player who would draw a lot of interest from opposing teams.

Via ESPN:

This is why you hear Larry Nance Jr.'s name a lot across the league — in addition to the big names in Oklahoma City (Paul, Gallinari, and Dennis Schroder). Schroder would draw strong interest, sources say.

Schroder will be a free agent after the 2020-21 season, and there is some question as to whether or not he or the Thunder are interested in re-signing. He's set to earn $15.5 million for the final year of his contract, but it's not clear what sort of deal he'll be looking for (or offered) in the future.

Theoretically, Schroder should have several years left in the tank, as he's 27 years of age. With a solid handle and an improved stroke from the three-point line, his offensive prowess is undoubtedly appealing to opposing sides. However, the German-born point guard is also a hound on the defensive end of the floor.

In his 65 appearances with the Thunder last season, Schroder racked up averages of 18.9 points on 46.9 percent shooting from the field, 4.0 assists and 3.6 rebounds. His 38.5 percent mark from downtown was the best mark of his career.

For now, we'll have to wait and see if the Thunder are listening to calls for Schroder.
