Paul George had “a little bit of buyer's remorse from the deal he signed last year” with the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Shams Charania of Watch Stadium.

George re-signed with the Thunder on a four-year, $137 million deal in the summer of 2018. The All-Star small forward didn't take any free agency meetings last offseason.

After speaking with Kawhi Leonard, George requested a trade from the Thunder to the Los Angeles Clippers. Both George and Leonard are from California.

The Thunder lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the first round of the 2019 playoffs in five games. OKC lost to the Utah Jazz in the first round of the 2018 playoffs in six games.

George underwent surgery to his right rotator cuff and left labrum after the season ended. The swingman averaged 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists this past season while shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 38.6 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line.

The Thunder are expected to trade point guard Russell Westbrook before the 2019-20 season starts. George will make $33,005,556 next season. The Clippers are now title contenders with Leonard and George on the roster. The Thunder are likely going to embark on a full rebuild. Don't be surprised if OKC trades Steven Adams after moving Westbrook.
