Oklahoma City Thunder guard Andre Roberson has not appeared in a game this season, but that doesn't mean he isn't on the comeback trail.

Prior to Tuesday's contest versus the Denver Nuggets, Roberson was out on the court getting up some shots as he prepares to potentially make his return to action at some point this season.

The last that fans saw of Andre Roberson in meaningful game action came when he suffered a gruesome left knee injury last January. It's been a long road back, one that saw additional setbacks for the 27-year-old as he attempted to get ready to start the 2018-19 season healthy.

In Roberson's place, the team has turned to second-year wing Terrance Ferguson to fill the role of on-ball defensive hawk. Ferguson may not have the credentials of Roberson, who was named to the 2016-17 NBA All-Defensive Second Team, but Ferguson has started all 51 games he has appeared in this year and averaged 6.9 points per game.

Scoring has certainly not been Roberson's forte throughout his career, as his critics will point out. But prior to his injury last season, he was shooting 53.7 percent from the field overall while averaging 1.2 steals and nearly a block per game.

As the playoffs draw near, the addition of a healthy Roberson could give Oklahoma City another weapon as they try to slow down some of the Western Conference's most lethal scorers. The Thunder have little incentive to rush him back, although his presence will likely be welcomed following the departure of Alex Abrines earlier this season.
