People go to Oklahoma City Thunder games and expect Russell Westbrook to shock them with his combination of brute, athleticism, and personality. All three qualities were on full display in one play during Friday night’s home game against the Miami Heat, when the reigning league MVP drove down the lane and unleashed a crafty Euro step to break through a phalanx of Heat defenders for a layup.

Watch the play below and stay for Westbrook’s reaction afterward.

After getting past through Goran Dragic, Westbrook was met in the paint by three Miami players and instinctively reached down his bag of tricks, choosing the two-step as his weapon of choice in wading through the traffic. All that was left to do for Justise Winslow, James Johnson, and Wayne Ellington was feel sorry for themselves over how they were made foolish by the spitfire Thunder guard.

The fun of watching Westbrook does not end in seeing him make plays like that. The total Westbrook entertainment package also includes his unwillingness to restrain his emotions. Many fans like seeing players express themselves on the court, and there could be no better player at it on the court than Westbrook, who led the Thunder with a near triple-double of 29 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists in a 105-99 win against Miami.

The victory served as a nice pick-me-up win for the Thunder following their heartbreaking loss to the Boston Celtics last Tuesday. The Thunder, who have won seven of their last eight games will face the Portland Trail Blazers next this Sunday at home.
