Through nearly the first half of the 2017-18 NBA season, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been inconsistent as Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony build chemistry. After winning four out of their last five games, the Thunder found themselves in a tight contest with the worst team in the league in the Atlanta Hawks.

With the Thunder and Hawks tied at 117, Westbrook nailed a game-winning three-pointer in front of the home crowd according to Streamable:

As Westbrook has been struggling with his shooting percentages (40.3 percent from the field, 30.9 percent from the three-point line, and 70.5 percent from the free-throw line), this was one of his most efficient games of the season. In addition to the game winner, he finished with 30 points (12-of-17 from the field), seven rebounds, and 15 assists in 36 minutes. It also marked his fourth consecutive game shooting at least 50 percent from the field.

With the Thunder playing well as of late, it will be interesting to see if they can not only maintain but establish themselves as contenders in the second half of the season. As Westbrook is starting to find his rhythm again, his efficiency as the team's first option will be crucial.

With the Thunder facing the Utah Jazz on the second night of a back-to-back, they will face the Houston Rockets on Christmas Day, which marks another measuring stick game even without Chris Paul.
