Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will have the chance to play in front his hometown fans when the Thunder take on the Raptors on Sunday night in Toronto.

The second-year guard spoke to reporters before the game about his emotions as he prepares to play in front of family and friends:

Gilgeous-Alexander was arguably the centerpiece of the deal that sent Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers this summer.

A combo guard with an excellent scoring touch, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 19.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 31 games for the Thunder. He has also expanded his range this season, averaging 3.6 three-point attempts per game compared to 1.7 attempts per game last year.

The former Kentucky star's impact is a large reason why the Thunder (16-15) find themselves in playoff position in spite of seemingly signaling a rebuild this summer when they traded franchise icon Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets.

Gilgeous-Alexander has been in a run of good form especially in the last two weeks, scoring at least 20 points in each of his last five games. He will look to continue his strong play in front of the hometown fans on Sunday.
