Steven Adams gets into shouting match with Nuggets fan

Steven Adams

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams found himself in the middle of a shouting match with a Denver Nuggets fan on Thursday night.

Adams appeared to be jawing back and forth with the fan during a free-throw attempt by the Nuggets, and the fan got up out of his seat and was not seemingly backing down from the challenge.

Of course, nothing actually happened, but it’s clear that Adams was having no part of what this guy was saying.

Something tells me that Adams may have won this matchup had it turned into something more than back and forth shouting, as you probably don’t want to mess with a 7-footer that plays in the NBA if you’re just a casual fan at a game.

However, it was the fan’s team that came out on the right side of the scoreboard, with the Nuggets earning a 109-98 win to move to 19-9 on the season.

As for the Thunder, they dropped to 17-10 despite a good night from star forward Paul George, who finished with a game-high 32 points in going 12 of 24 from the field and 5 of 6 at the free-throw line.

Adams wasn’t far behind in posting 26 points on 12-of-20 shooting while also notching the double-double with 14 rebounds.

Oklahoma City has now lost two straight and three of four heading into an important stretch of games over the next few weeks.

The Thunder will return to the court on Saturday when they return to Chesapeake Energy Arena to host the Los Angeles Clippers, who are also on a two-game slide.
