Tiago Splitter’s career in Atlanta could not seem to gain some steam.

After playing only 36 games last season due to a season-ending hip surgery, the Brazilian big man is once again bitten by the injury bug.

According to an AP report, Splitter suffered a hamstring injury during practice.

An MRI on Monday confirmed a Grade 2 strain, which will keep him out for a minimum of four weeks. The 6-foot-11 player was expected to back up new Atlanta center Dwight Howard as well as Paul Millsap.

Although his absence isn’t expected to force him to miss out on a significant number of regular season games, one can just imagine the frustration that Splitter must be going through right now.

The Hawks will bank on Mike Muscala for the time being to provide extra muscle from the bench.
