Free agent Carlos Correa had a breakfast meeting with Detroit Tigers' manager A.J. Hinch. The breakfast supposedly turned into lunch, as the two had such a great time with one another. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN:

Correa and manager A.J. Hinch have former connections to one another due to their time with the Houston Astros, where Hinch was also the manager there from 2015-2019. The two won a World Series in 2017.

The Detroit Tigers are in desperate need for star power, but specifically at the shortstop position. Correa is one of the top shortstops available on the market, as he is a free agent. It also makes sense that there is speculation that the 27 year old could reunite with his former manager, as they have prior experiences winning a title together.

Correa is in the prime of his career, at the age of 27 years old. He was an All-Star and Gold Glove winner this past season, hitting 26 home runs, driving home 92 RBI's, and garnering 34 doubles. Joining a promising Tigers team could be enticing for the shortstop, as he could be the team's leader and face of the franchise.

The Tigers have a developing team that could be in playoff contention within the next few seasons. With more experienced stars joining the roster, Detroit could seriously make a push for a postseason run.
