The last time most of us saw Kris Dunn, he was playing in a summer league game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Toronto Raptors. He was on the receiving end of a vicious hit to the jaw from Jakob Poeltl during action, but he gave no indication of an injury during or after the game.

It wasn't until later that night that the symptoms of a concussion set in. He was diagnosed the next day, ending his summer league experience just two games in. Minnesota eventually made it all the way to the championship game in Las Vegas.

Now, a month later, the 2016 fifth overall pick has told reporters that he's perfectly healthy and that he's back working on the court.

From Michael Rand of the Star Tribune:

“I feel great. I’m back on court. I’m just working to get better for training camp, but I’m definitely back.”

The rookie also talked to Rand about what kind of role he expects to have in Minnesota come October. With other talented guards around him like Ricky Rubio, Zach LaVine, Tyus Jones, and Andrew Wiggins, he's willing to embrace whatever new head coach Tom Thibodeau decides to do with him:

“Just like any other time, when you’re coming from 8th grade to freshman year, you just want to prove yourself and work hard. Same thing when you’re going from high school to college,” Dunn said. “Whatever happens, happens. If I’m a starter or not a starter, I’m going to do whatever the coach needs me to do. I’m just here to learn.”

It's an exciting time to be a T-Wolves fan as the franchise looks to ascend back into the playoffs and be a contender for years to come. Dunn has a chance to be a pivotal part of that process, but there's still much work to be done.
