The Minnesota Timberwolves may have once again missed out on the playoffs, but it has not been a total disaster for them this year as they have witnessed the emergence of some of their young players to potentially become big stars in the league someday. Two of them are Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine, who are both already eligible to sign contract extensions this summer.

No less than team owner Glen Taylor, revealed via Sid Hartman of the Star Tribune, that the team is already contemplating on discussing with them he possibility of staying in Minneapolis linger.

“We might have to address Wiggins and Zach during this summer to extend their contracts but we could wait two years and Towns would be one year after that. It’s something we can start negotiating with them this year but we don’t have to.”

Both players are on their third year in the NBA, and are still under contract until the 2018-19 season. However, it will be wise for the Wolves to address their contract situation immediately before waiting for them to become restricted free agents. Should that happen, it can be expected that they will generate a lot of interest around the league because of their impressive games.

The situation of the Timberwolves is definitely worth keeping an eye on and will be interesting to find out how things will unfold for them. If there's anything certain at this point, the team does not want to risk losing them both, especially if they'll receive significant offers from other teams.
