Alex Rodriguez may have just lost Jennifer Lopez to Ben Affleck after the two were seen in Montana over the weekend. On top of that, the former MLB star's ownership group hasn't yet secured their purchase of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Per ESPN's Brian Windhorst, Rodriguez and tech entrepreneur Marc Lore had a 30-day negotiating window to make a formal offer for the team. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

Alex Rodriguez and his party will continue to try and work out a deal for the Timberwolves, with the purchase price expected to be around $1.5 billion. Current owner Glen Taylor made the decision to sell the franchise on April 10, with A-Rod and Lore expected to become limited partners and buy pieces of the franchise. The two were going to take full control in 2023/2024.

They even toured the facilities last month, with Rodriguez making an appearance at a Timberwolves game not too long ago. Their desired purchase of the organization is by no means dead in the water, but more negotiations will just need to be had.

Meanwhile, Alex Rodriguez was looking like he was figuring things out with Lopez in their rocky relationship, but reports surfaced lately that she has been spending time with Affleck. The two Hollywood stars dated back in the early 2000s for about a year and a half. Although JLo said last month the two are just friends, this latest getaway insinuates different.

A source close to the situation had this to say:

“[Jennifer] spent several days with Ben out of town. They have a strong connection. It's all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy,” a source tells PEOPLE of the pair who were later spotted arriving back in L.A. on Saturday on a private jet.”

Things have just gone from bad to worse for Alex Rodriguez. He may have lost his fiancee and the potential ownership of the Timberwolves.
