Andrew Wiggins angered many Minnesota Timberwolves following Friday night's game when he said that there are good fans and bad fans. He doubled down on those comments on Sunday:

“If the shoe fits, wear it,” he told Chris Hine of the Star Tribune. “There’s going to be some good ones. There’s going to be some bad ones. People that react bad are the bad ones.”

At least Wiggins is sticking by his statements. It would be easy to back off after the backlash, but by doubling down, Wiggins is making his feelings crystal clear:

“They were just booing when we were still trying to win,” Wiggins told Hine when asked if he wanted more cheers and less boos. “But it is what it is. I didn’t want to let it get to me. I’ve made big shots. I’ve made a lot of big shots in my career.”

It's understandable for Wiggins to be frustrated, and he's not completely wrong. There are bad fans in every fan base.

That being said, the timing from Wiggins is curious. He forgot his jersey and nearly missed the opening tip and then missed crucial free throws in overtime. Some of those fans had a right to boo the effort.

Andrew Wiggins has failed to live up to the expectations he entered the league with. Fans are frustrated that Wiggins is signed to a lucrative, long-term deal. He doesn't deserve all the hate that he gets, but on Friday, the boos were warranted.
