As an impending social media duel was about to go down between Minnesota Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins and ESPN analyst Stephen Jackson, Memphis Grizzlies assistant coach Jerry Stackhouse stepped in.

Via Instagram, Jackson revealed that Stackhouse called him in the middle of his impending social media scuffle with Wiggins. Jackson thanked him for his effort to end the fight before it got big.

To recall, right after the news broke out about Jimmy Butler's trade request, Wiggin's younger brother tweeted “Hallelujah,” signifying that he's more than happy that Butler will finally be gone. According to various reports, Butler has not been seeing eye-to-eye with his teammates, most especially Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

Jackson retaliated, perhaps in defense of Butler, claiming what Wiggins doesn't have a heart:

Wiggins, for his part, didn't back down and put out a message directed right at Jackson. Check out a screenshot of Wiggins' response from his Instagram story per @World_Wide_Wob:

It seemed that Jackson and Wiggins meant every offensive word they said to one another. Things can get heated in the NBA. After all, these athletes are the toughest competitors out there. Even if it's outside the court, they are willing to take that victory — no matter what form it is. Good thing, however, that peacemakers like Stackhouse are there to remind them to stay cool, calm, collected, and enjoy life.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, just need to make a huge decision on Butler.
